Meet the Team

Your GP practice is open and here for you and your family.

In order to provide the right care at the right time, all GP practices are changing how they work. In a GP practice you will now find a wider team of specialists and professionals working together to help and care for you. The larger practice team is designed to best manage the very busy workload and the range of health needs that people have. You may get referred to the most appropriate member of the team to provide the support you need.

Administration Team

We have two part-time secretaries who deal with all patient referrals to hospitals and clinics. Our team of administrators deal with a wide range of administrative tasks, including smear and mammogram enquiries, and re-calling patients for specific health checks.

The practice is also supported by a team of prescription clerks and computer clerks.

Reception Team

The receptionists are there to help you, but reception is a very difficult and demanding job.

The receptionists act in accordance with the instructions given to them by the doctors; so if you have any problems, please bring them up with the practice manager – complaints should not be directed at the receptionists.

Please be patient and help them by giving as much information as possible.

Rest assured that anything you tell them, or any other member of staff, will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Attached Staff

In addition to our core practice staff above, we have the following attached staff:

  • The district nurses provide healthcare for patients in their homes. Their main role is to give professional nursing, advice and health education in the community.
  • The midwives work with the doctors to care for mothers before and after delivery and hold weekly antenatal clinics by appointment.
  • Our health visitor is a specially qualified nurse who can provide information, advice and support on health matters, in particular to families of small children.
  • Our counsellors see patients via referral from the GP.
